Vintage Donegal Doll from Ireland

This is another doll from my daughter's vintage collection of dolls from all over the world. The collection is more than 35 years old. This doll which represents a Donegal Women is 7 inches high and was handmade by "Jay" (tag is still attached). The tag says the women from Donegal wore gay coloured blouses, homespun skirt, white apron and a long black shawl. Their menfolk usually migrated to England or Scotland for the harvesting season and the women had to look after the households and any land they have. If you like to collect authentic dolls this is a must. It has been displayed so there is some slight soiling, but the doll is in very nice vintage condition, otherwise.
